About Mount Calvary Lutheran Church

Mount Calvary from the East

Mount Calvary Evangelical Lutheran Church was established in 1887 by Swedish immigrants to Colorado. Throughout the years, Mount Calvary has grown from its humble roots and prospered along with Boulder, so that now it and its members are "blessed to be a blessing" to the community and the world. In recognition of that blessing, we have adopted this phrase from Genesis, "Blessed To Be A Blessing", as our motto and mission. It is now chiseled into the stone over the entrance to our new building.

Mount Calvary has a strong and vibrant Music, Youth and Service Ministry program.  Our worship services have distinctive flair, be it contemporary or traditional liturgy and music that you enjoy.  Our youth groups are strong and growing, and are always looking for new friends to join with them. Our Missions programs benefit both our local communities and stretches around the globe.

Mount Calvary is also about openness. For example, we practice open communion—everyone is welcome. And openness and welcome to all are expressed in our home page's subtitle, A Receptive, Responsive, Reconciling in Christ Community of Faith.   We hope that you will attend one of our future services and experience what a real Community of Faith can do for you.
